    Acupuncture is widely used in the management of headaches and can be applied as a single modality or as part of a comprehensive treatment program. Acupuncture can offer powerful relief without the side effects that prescription and over-the-counter drugs can cause. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine have been used to relieve Headaches, as well as their underlying causes, for thousands of years and is a widely accepted form of treatment for headaches in our society.

    Headache can occur due to the invasion of pathogenic wind in to meridians and collaterals, hyperactive of live yang or deficiency of blood and qi. The classic points are for back of head pain (GB 20, BL 62, SI3), front of head pain (ST 8, GV23, LI 4, ST 44), side of head pain (GV 8, TE 5, GB40, GV 20, SI 3, BL 62), headache from hyperactive liver yang (GB 20, GB 34, GB 41, LV 2, GV 20) and headache from the deficiency of blood and qi (GV 20, CV 6, BL 18, BL 20, BL 23, ST 36).
