- Syncope is manifested by sudden fainting, pallor, cold limbs and loss of consciousness, which is often resulted from emotional excitement, fright or debilitation and over straining. Syncope is caused by general deficiency of qi or emotional disturbances. symptoms of syncope are feeble breathing, spontaneous sweating, pallor, cold limbs, deep and thready pulse, or coarse breathing, rigid limbs, clenched jaws, deep and excess-type pulse.
Acupuncture may be helpful in treating syncope in a large percentage of cases. The classic points are for qi deficiency (GV 26, GV 20, PC 6, CV 6, ST 36) and emotional disturbance (GV 26, LI 4, PC 9, PC 8, LR 3, KI 1)
