Acupuncture Can Relieve Common Cold

    The common cold is a disorder with headaches, nasal obstruction, aversion to wind and fever. It usually occurs in winter and spring, but may also be seen throughout the year. Influenza is also grouped under this category in traditional Chinese medicine. Invasion of the body surface by wind and cold impairs the dispersing function of the lung and affects nose, causing nasal obstruction and discharge with main symptoms: chills, fever, headaches, nasal obstruction, cough, hoarse voice, etc. Wind heat often attacks the body through the nose and mouth with main symptoms: fever, sweating, slight aversion to wind, pain and distending sensation of the head, cough with yellow , thirst, etc.

    Reducing is applied to the classic points of GV 16, LI 4, BL12, GB 20 and LU 7 for wind heat, and GV 14, LI 11, LI 4, Lu 10, LU 11 and TE 5 for wind cold. this treatment can be applied to the other upper respiratory track infections. However, common cold should be differential diagnosed from other disease with similar signs and symptoms. Acupuncture can relieve your common cold and symptoms.
