- Required AMA Guides to the evaluation of permanent impairment, 6th edition:
- “The diagnosis of a focal neuropathy syndrome must be documented by sensory and motor nerve conduction studies (NCV) and/or needle EMG in order to be ratable as impairment.”
- At Present, only the needle EMG is considered diagnostic of radiculopathy.”
- NCV/EMG Evidence can add 9% whole body impairment rating on top of the residual impairment rating.
- All extremity tingling/numbness can yield Positive NCV findings coupled with EMG finding.
- Muscle weakness, etc.
